The first meeting of our project took place in the Directorate of Primary Education of the region of Fthiotida, Lamìa, Greece. This two-day event marked a crucial step in the development and implementation of our initiative, bringing together all partners to ensure a cohesive and efficient approach to achieving our goals.
The meeting began with a series of management and coordination activities, allowing the partners to align their objectives and ensure that responsibilities were clearly defined. The sessions facilitated open discussions on administrative procedures.
Each participating organization had the opportunity to introduce themselves, providing an overview of their roles, expertise, and expectations for the project.
An in-depth overview of the project’s activities and timeline was presented by hosting partner. This segment addressed the various components of the project, highlighting key milestones and deadlines. Time management strategies were also discussed to ensure smooth implementation and efficiency.
A dedicated session was conducted to outline the structure and content of the official project website and its official Facebook page. The Directorate led the discussions, emphasizing the importance of digital presence and engagement with the wider educational community. Project coordinator presented the financial plan, detailing budget allocations, funding procedures, and risk mitigation strategies. This session ensured that all partners had a clear understanding of the financial responsibilities and how to handle potential challenges.
Training Activities: Storytelling for Pro-Environmental Education
One of the highlights of the meeting was the internal training session conducted by the Greek partner on the use of storytelling to promote pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors in primary schools. This training aimed to:
- Introduce dedicated educational materials and strategies for integrating storytelling into environmental education.
- Equip teachers with innovative methods to engage students in sustainability topics.
- Enhance pedagogical approaches through narrative-driven learning experiences.
The meeting included a visit to a local primary school where partners observed best practices in environmental education. This visit provided valuable insights into how schools implement sustainability initiatives and engage teachers in fostering environmental awareness among students. Following the training, partners collaborated to plan the next eight months of project activities. A key focus was on developing the four MiniEduAgri Comics, with initial ideas and common practices being shared.
